01 / WHERE ENTERTAINMENT MEETS BRAND
Where entertainment meets brand
Filtered Interiors was Channel 4’s first social branded entertainment original-content vodcast, created in partnership with Wayfair.
Hosted by Vogue Williams and architect Danny Campbell, the six-part series brought together celebrity, entertainment and interior design in a format created for digital audiences.
Guests including Kojey Radical, Donna Preston, Kiell Smith-Bynoe, Ferne McCann, Ade Adepitan and Fatiha El-Ghorri each arrived with a real design dilemma — and a room they wanted to transform.
Vogue and Danny explored each guest’s personality, tastes and relationship with their space before going head-to-head with competing design ideas and mood boards.
The result was part interview, part entertainment format and part interiors inspiration — with Wayfair naturally embedded at the heart of the transformation.
02 / THE CREATIVE CHALLENGE
The creative challenge
The challenge with branded entertainment is simple: the audience still has to choose to watch it.
Filtered Interiors needed to deliver for Wayfair while retaining the personality, entertainment and storytelling audiences expect from Channel 4.
My focus was on applying editorial judgement and audience instinct to that balance — finding the strongest character moments, sharpening the competition between the two design approaches and building anticipation around the eventual transformations.
Rather than allowing the commercial element to interrupt the entertainment, the interiors themselves became the storytelling engine.
03 / FINDING THE STORY
Finding the story
Every episode started with personality.
The celebrity’s relationship with their home gave us character and humour. Their design dilemma created the problem. Vogue and Danny’s contrasting ideas created competition. And the eventual visualisation provided the payoff.
That gave each film a clear narrative journey:
personality → problem → ideas → competition → transformation.
The challenge was deciding what information to reveal, what to hold back and where personality should take precedence over process.
That editorial judgement helped turn an interiors conversation into entertainment.
04 / DESIGNED BEYOND TELEVISION
Designed beyond television
Filtered Interiors was conceived for audiences beyond the traditional broadcast schedule.
The main series launched through Channel 4’s YouTube, with the wider content proposition extending across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube Shorts, before the boxset became available through Channel 4 streaming.
That meant thinking about storytelling in an environment where attention is earned rather than assumed — strong openings, immediately understandable ideas, personality-led moments and visual payoffs capable of travelling beyond the full episode.

05 / WHY IT MATTERS
Why it matters
Filtered Interiors sits directly at the intersection of brand, entertainment, audience and platform.
It demonstrates how the storytelling principles behind premium entertainment can work in a commercial environment without turning the content into conventional advertising.
For Wayfair, the product wasn’t simply placed around the entertainment. The possibilities of transforming a space became the entertainment.
And for the audience, the proposition remained straightforward:
interesting people, competing ideas and the anticipation of seeing what a familiar space could become.
That’s the kind of branded content I find most interesting — where the needs of the audience and the objectives of the brand aren’t competing with each other, but are built into the same creative idea.
“Filtered Interiors is full of firsts for our team, the first original branded vodcast, and the first social branded entertainment partnership with a home/interiors brand. As a team, we’re constantly innovating and looking at how we can offer the best creative solutions for our clients to reach new audiences, and this is a great example.”
