ITV2 · SERIES 31–36
Keeping a returning franchise immediate and recognisable.
The Only Way Is Essex · Franchise consistency
A long-running format needs a voice audiences recognise, while every episode still has to feel current, specific and alive.

01 / THE CHALLENGE
The problem to solve
Around 30 unscripted scenes become one weekly episode across several teams and executive reviews. Character continuity, tone and momentum need to remain consistent as separate strands come together.
02 / MY RESPONSIBILITY
My responsibility
I shaped assigned story strands within the show’s established voice, using character, reaction, music and pace to move the week’s story forward. The work required continuity with material being developed by other teams.
03 / CREATIVE DECISIONS
The creative decisions
The creative decisions balanced freshness with consistency: which exchanges carried the story, where humour or emotion should land and how transitions could keep the whole episode moving.
04 / WORKING TOGETHER
How I worked with the team
I worked with producers, executives and parallel teams, turning notes into focused changes while protecting continuity and the programme’s recognisable tone across the final delivery.
05 / THE WORK
What the work demonstrates
Polished story strands that fitted a fast weekly workflow and a well-established franchise voice. It demonstrates the shared standards and judgement required to sustain returning content at scale.
